Service Description: AMRD created the Bernie Heggeman Memorial Reef (Mississippi Sound) and the CCA Alabama Pelican Bay Reef (Pelican Bay, south of Dauphin Is and north of Sand Is.) to improve inshore habitat and create additional opportunity for anglers. AMRD perfromed Side Scan Sonar surveys of the new reefs to ensure the proper installation and location of the artificial reef modules. These images allow researchers, scientist, anglers and other intersted parties the abilty to visualize the reefs as they are created.
